Incheon, South Korea's third-largest city and home to the country's main international airport, is far more than a transit hub. The city's vibrant Chinatown - Korea's only official Chinatown - serves legendary jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), while the adjacent Fairy Tale Village is a whimsical neighborhood painted with storybook murals.
The city played a pivotal role in modern Korean history through the 1950 Incheon Landing that turned the tide of the Korean War. Today, the massive Songdo International Business District showcases futuristic urban planning, while the nearby islands accessible by bridge or ferry offer beaches, mudflats, and seafood. The blend of history, international culture, and coastal scenery makes Incheon worth more than a layover.
April-May and September-October offer pleasant weather. Summer (June-August) is hot and humid with monsoon rain. Winter (December-February) is cold and dry. Spring and autumn are ideal for exploring.
