Sedona

Sedona is a desert masterpiece - a small city surrounded by towering red rock formations that glow in shades of crimson, orange, and gold under the Arizona sun. The landscape is so dramatic that it draws spiritual seekers to its famous vortex sites, artists to its galleries, and hikers to its world-class trails.

The red rock formations - Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock, Coffee Pot Rock - create an ever-changing spectacle as the light shifts throughout the day. Sedona offers over 100 hiking trails ranging from easy walks to challenging scrambles, plus Jeep tours, mountain biking, and hot air balloon rides over the buttes.

Despite its small size, Sedona has a sophisticated arts scene with dozens of galleries in the Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village. The food scene has grown considerably, with restaurants offering Southwestern cuisine paired with stunning red rock views.

The best time to visit Sedona is spring (March to May) and fall (October to November), when temperatures are ideal for hiking and the light on the red rocks is extraordinary.

Spring offers wildflowers and comfortable temperatures (15-25°C). Fall brings cooler air, smaller crowds, and stunning light conditions. Summer is hot (35-38°C) but the higher elevation (4,350 feet) makes it more bearable than Phoenix. Winter is mild during the day with occasional light snow dusting the red rocks - a magical sight.
