Mandurah

Mandurah is a canal city an hour south of Perth, famous for its resident dolphins, blue manna crab fishing, and extensive waterway system. Over 90 bottlenose dolphins live permanently in the Mandurah estuary, making dolphin sightings almost guaranteed on boat cruises.

The city's canal developments, boardwalks, and waterfront dining create a relaxed holiday atmosphere. Crab fishing in the estuary is a beloved Perth tradition, particularly in summer. The Thrombolites at Lake Clifton - living rock structures related to some of the earliest life forms on Earth - are a lesser-known natural wonder nearby.

Visit Mandurah from October to March for warm weather and peak crab season. Dolphins are resident year-round. Summer evenings are perfect for waterfront dining and crab fishing. Winter is mild.
